From the private collection of Laurence W. Hodson(1863-1933) a good quality George III oblong silver sauce tureen and cover with a gadrooned rim and twin angular handles on 4 ball-feet. Raised domed lid with foliate finial. 18.6 troy ounces. 8 inches long. Made in London 1808 by Rebecca & William Emes.( This mark was entered in June 1808 and only used for 3.5 months, William being the brother of her late husband John Emes, Rebecca re registered her mark on the 14th. October the same year with Edward Barnard)
